Pets at Cherry Trees

The Cottage & Area

Cherry Trees is a beautifully appointed cottage, full of character - and with Loch Fyne situated at the end of the driveway!  The bridge over the stream running through the garden is the icing on the picture-perfect cake (or would that be the tree swing..?)!

The cottage is perfect for couples or families, with 3 bedrooms (1 king-size, 1 double, 1 twin).  The double bedroom has an ensuite shower room, and there is a main family bathroom as well which features a beautiful roll-top, claw-foot bath to relax in after a day out.  The king-size bedroom features a four-poster bed and giant mirror, along with a lit dressing table - ideal for a pamper session!

With plenty of living space, Cherry Trees offers a place for multi-generational families to relax and enjoy getting away together (perhaps for a special birthday, or anniversary...?).  The sociable dining kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a break away, including a dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee machine and washing machine.  There is a radio, as well as a cosy reading corner with a comfy chair.  The living room is beautifully decorated, displaying true Scottish style, with comfortable furnishings as well as an open fire and selection of board games as well as a Smart TV for cosy nights in.

At the opposite end of the house you'll find a wonderfully bright conservatory with a large corner sofa, offering the perfect space to chill out after a day exploring.  The conservatory has a nautical theme, and also features a telescope for any stargazers out there; and a TV (ideal if you're bringing teenagers who want their own space!).

Each bedroom has its own name, and individual sense of style - somewhere to really look forward to coming back to after a day trip.

Outside, the private garden offers the perfect space for relaxing during the long summer evenings - with the tree swing in the garden, and bridge over the small stream taking the charm of the cottage to another level!

The cottage is set all on one level; although there is a step up from the conservatory to the kitchen, and a step down from the kitchen to the double bedroom.  The rest of the property is level, with the main bathroom situated off the hallway between the twin room and kingsize room.

Just 10 minutes from Inveraray, Furnace is great for escaping the hustle and bustle whilst being within easy reach of everything.  There are good facilities in the village - the Post Office and village shop are open daily, and serve hot food (including takeaway), ice cream and is also an off-licence.  There is a community run bar which often opens in the village hall at weekends, and there is also regularly 'Fish Fry-Day' on Friday evenings.  There is a small play-park in the village, or for something more adventurous Fyne Den at Cairndow is around 20 minutes away, or the swimming pool and under 5s soft play is in Lochgilphead (also 20 minutes).

Inveraray itself features a whole host of fantastic small local businesses - from gift shops to some of the best restaurants around.  The Castle is worth a visit, as is the Jail - and Auchendrain Museum is only a few miles from Furnace.  You'll also find a great number of local shops and businesses are dog-friendly (including The George, Brambles, Inveraray Inn, and The Jail).

We are centrally located for exploring all of Argyll and beyond: just under an hour up to the mountains of Glencoe (well worth a visit whether summer or winter!); just over an hour to Oban (which has a good range of shops/bars/restaurants, as well as being home to the ferries to most of the Inner Hebrides); around half an hour or so to the historic Kilmartin Glen (well worth a trip to see the standing stones and museum); around an hour to Dunoon; around 45 minutes to Tarbert and on down the Kintyre Peninsula (ferries to Islay, Gigha and Arran, as well as Machrihanish Beach).

Otters, porpoises, seals and herons are all regular visitors to the loch in front of the cottage, with sea eagles even being seen from time to time.  The cottage is ideally located for those with kayaks/boats/SUPs - or those who enjoy wild swimming.

There are loads of great walks in the area, with the ability to walk for miles right from the cottage.  The area is popular with cyclists too, with many forestry tracks meaning you don't have to cycle on the main road either.

Dogs are very welcome at Cherry Trees - but please note that the garden is not fully enclosed.  The section behind the property backs onto woods (great for walking/running through!), and there is no fence here.

There is no restriction on the size/breed of dogs you can bring.  We are normally limited to 3 dogs per stay, with the first charged at £30 per stay, and any additional dogs charged at £10 each.  We ask that you confirm in advance the number you are to bringing, leave the property as clean and tidy as you find it, and please do bring throws etc to cover soft furnishings if there is a chance your dog will try and jump up.

Other pets are welcome too - so whether it's guinea pigs, hamsters or something altogether more exotic, please just ask (we have heard most requests before)!
